Who is the chef behind Bacchus Restaurant in Vancouver?
Behind every exceptional dining experience is a Chef whose passion, precision, and pursuit of excellence inspire every plate.
We are fortunate to have that in Executive Chef Stefan Hartmann at Bacchus.
In a recent feature for Vancouver is Awesome, Christian Alvarez sat down with Chef Hartmann to discuss his remarkable culinary journey, from training under some of Europe’s most celebrated chefs, including Josef Viehhauser, Kolja Kleeberg, Jacques Maximin, and Joachim Splichal at Patina in the U.S., to earning a Michelin star for his own Berlin restaurant, Hartmanns, before bringing his talents to Canada.
Today at Bacchus, Chef Hartmann combines the finest Pacific Northwest ingredients with refined European technique, creating dishes that are elegant, thoughtful, and rooted in craftsmanship.
Ironically, becoming a chef was never part of the plan. Yet his natural talent and curiosity led him to an extraordinary career. We are incredibly grateful that path ultimately brought him to Bacchus.
Thank you to Christian for taking the time to share Chef Hartmann’s story.
