BC Business has released its October 2026 issue, and we are delighted to see the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa take center stage on the cover. READ FULL ARTICLE
The feature celebrates something deeply important to us: more than four decades as an independent, family-owned and operated business in British Columbia, now shaped by three generations of women.
The story looks back to our founder, Eleni Skalbania, who built the Wedgewood while forging her own path in a predominantly male industry in the 1980s. Today, that legacy continues through her daughters and our co-owners, Elpie Marinakis and Marousa Dumaresq, who continue to evolve the Wedgewood as Vancouver’s only Relais & Châteaux hotel.
For us, being family-owned means bringing generations of experience together with new ideas. It means continuing to evolve while holding onto the personal relationships, attention to detail and genuine sense of belonging that have always defined the Wedgewood.
“It is such an honour to carry on my grandmother Eleni Skalbania’s legacy and to work alongside my amazing mother and aunt. This year has been especially meaningful, watching them bring their different strengths together to lead our room renovation and create something we are all so proud of.” – Eleni Marinakis-Jackson, Operations Manager & Public Relations
Thank you to BC Business for sharing our story and for celebrating the family businesses that contribute so much to British Columbia. We are incredibly proud to be among them.
