Celebrating Edna’s Retirement After 40 Remarkable Years

Today, we celebrate an extraordinary milestone as we wish a heartfelt congratulations to one of the most beloved members of the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa family, Edna, on her retirement after 40 remarkable years.

For four decades, Edna has been a defining part of the Wedgewood story. From working alongside our founder, Eleni Skalbania, to continuing her journey under the leadership of Elpie Marinakis, she has been a constant through every chapter of our history. Having witnessed every renovation, milestone, and transformation, Edna has played an invaluable role in shaping the hotel our guests know and love today.

Those who have had the privilege of working with Edna know that no one takes greater pride in their work. Her impeccable attention to detail, unwavering work ethic, and willingness to support her teammates have made her the gold standard in our Housekeeping department. For generations of colleagues, the phrase, “Make it look like Edna’s room,” has been the benchmark for excellence.

This week, we were honoured to celebrate Edna with a retirement party surrounded by so many people whose lives she has touched. It was especially meaningful to welcome back several retired members of our Housekeeping team who worked beside Edna throughout the years, alongside many current colleagues who will miss her dearly. It was a beautiful reminder that the friendships built at the Wedgewood last a lifetime!

Edna, thank you for your 40 years of dedication, loyalty, and care. The rooms you prepared welcomed thousands of guests, but the legacy you have left with your colleagues is even greater.
